It's been said that the game industry needs more recognizable faces, something akin to rock and movie stars. Who better to lay that ground work than Hideo Kojima himself, the man behind the Metal Gear Solid series and the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Along with series lead artist Yoji Shinkawa, Hideo will be visiting HMV's flagship Oxford Street store in London's West End on Monday June 2nd. Starting at noon, fans can line up and get a signed pre-release HMV exclusive sleeve of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, though only 300 sleeves will be given out, so all you Londoners better get out there early if you intend on getting the man's signature. Sleeves will be available beginning at 9:00 AM.

To make matters worse, or better for the collectors among us, the signing queue will be limited to only the 300 sleeves given out by HMV, and you'll have to pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at HMV for £5 to get one.

We need more of these little shindigs. Get enough of these and gaming will finally move up to the realm of book signings. It's good to see Kojima paving the way.
