[Release Rehash] August 13th
Get your ass back to Mars... Hannah Montana's there!
Published: August 13, 2009
While there is not a whole slew on new content to talk about htis week, there are a couple of things that may be of interest to you video game players out there, and also to you Miley Cyrus fans! (somehow I don't think we have too many of those here)
The big news this week is that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 finally hits the PSN today. At this point, I don't think I really need to tell you a whole lot about this game, since it's, you know, like 10 yaers old at this point and this is the sixth time it's been released. One nice thing about this latest edition though, it features all the characters unlocked from the get go, rather than forcing you to play 1000 matches to finally get to use Jill Valentine. With almost 50 playable fighters, MvC 2 seem slike a bargain at just $14.99 on the PSN. If you really hate downloads, Capcom also released a limited edition boxed version (15,000 copies) that retail for the same price, and are only available at GameStop. (booooo!) Get your combo on!
In the DLC section of this brief update, we have the first DLC for Red Faction : Guerrila hitting PSN today. Priced at a semi-reasonable $9.99, RF:G:Demons of the Badlands details the years leading up to the events of the main game. The Demons of the Badlands downloadable content pack tells the prequel story to Red Faction: Guerrilla. In this entirely new single player adventure, players will uncover the mysteries of the Marauder people and take on the role of Samanya as she leads a revolt against the oppressive Earth Defense Force (EDF). Demons of the Badlands features seven new weapons, three new vehicles, ten new guerrilla actions and ten new un-lockable achievements and trophies. The DLC pack takes place in the self-contained Mariner Valley. So get your ass back to Mars!
Finally, for those of you who have been waiting to get a PSP, don't wait for that PSPgo that's gonna be so pricey. Nope. Run out NOW and grab one of those SWEET Lilac-colored PSP's that's hitting stores as part of the special Hannah Montana PSP Entertainment Pack. Specifically designed for the fashion-forward “tween,” the pack includes the new “Lilac” PSP-3000 system, Disney Interactive’s Hannah Montana: Rock Out The Show™ video game, three Hannah Montana episodes on UMD® (Universal Media Disc), a 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo™, and fashionable vinyl stickers to customize the PSP system for $199.99 (MSRP).
As part of SCEA’s “Girlz Play Too” marketing initiative, a highly targeted television, print and digital campaign focused on female gaming will appear throughout the fall. In addition, SCEA has launched a “Girlz Play Too” specific Web destination in which girls can discover and explore all of the multimedia features available on the PSP system.
I don't think I can say any more...
