SCEA announces Killzone 2 Online Championship with MLG
You think you're the king of the world when it comes to Killzone 2 online? Prove it.
Published: April 29, 2009
Killzone 2 is a terrific online multiplayer experience. We don't need to keep telling you that. Most of you are out there playing it every damn night. And many of you would probably consider yourselves skilled players. At least we hope you do, because on May 6, 2009 we will be kicking your butts in SCEA's official Killzone 2 tournament (the first of many PlayStation tournaments to be held on GameBattles in 2009!).
So stop whining. Register with three more buddies. And look forward to being able to call yourselves “P0WN3D” by the TotalPlayStation dream team! (Sam, Sunny and JD, don't you guys let me hangin' here!)
Four-player teams can start signing up on April 27th and ladder play ensues on May 6th. The best 64 teams are then going to battle it off beginning July 1st.
Now most of you will probably sign up for the fame and the easy groupies, but those of you who actually manage to make it under the best 16 teams will receive a bunch of candy and prizes worth around $60,000 in “rare collectible items”. That would be the following:
1st Place (1 team) = T-shirt, authentic Killzone 2 Helghast suits, DLC codes
2nd Place (1 team) = T-shirt, StA 52 assault riffle replicas, DLC codes
3rd Place (2 teams) = T-shirt, collectible Killzone 2 helmet/busts, DLC codes
5th Place (4 teams) = T-shirt, DLC codes
9th Place (8 teams) = T-shirt
Sounds neat, heh? Yep, just remember who made you cry when it's all over.
