Can you believe it has been 10 (T E N !) years since the original Jak and Daxter shipped all the way back on the PlayStation 2? It feels like yesterday that what was essentially Daxter's humor sucked me into one of the best 3D-platforming adventures I've ever experienced. Heck, I'd even go as far as to say that Jak and Daxter is easily one of the best games to ever hit our beloved PS2, and certainly features one of the most memorable (anti)-hero combos in gaming's history.

By creating two incredible sequels (Jak 2 and Jak 3), Naughty Dog not only blew the already amazing first game totally out of the sky in almost every aspect, but simply redefined our expectations when it comes to sheer ambition and transforming video games into a complex and intriguing plot-driven medium - a trend Naughty Dog has impressively kept alive with the hollywood-esque presentation found in its Uncharted series, ultimately immortalizing itself as one of the best developers on the planet.

Sony announced the Jak and Daxter Collection through the usual means of its PlayStation Blog, promising us a full remaster (handled by Mass Media "working closely" alongside Naughty Dog) including 720p HD visuals, stereoscopic 3D support, trophies and "more."

The game is set to ship sometime in February of next year, and we promise to have more for you, including a full review sometime between now and then. In the meantime, check out this nostalgia inducing trailer below. Oh, and don't forget to sound off in the comments once you've been reminded what a lovable little weasel Daxter was.
