Remember a while back when we told you that there was a collector's edition for inFAMOUS 2? A lot of people were winning the mysterious prize from the Subway contest but no one had a clue what exactly they were getting.

Well, now we know. Thanks to the PS Blog we got some details on the game and this special edition. The Hero Edition will include a highly detailed 8.5” Cole MacGrath statue, a sportable sling pack modeled after Cole’s own in-game gear, the inFAMOUS #1 mini comic from DC Comics, the official inFAMOUS 2 HERO Edition Soundtrack and a super voucher code for a collection of in-game content. Quite a nifty package, and according to Blog it's going to run you $99.99. Unless, of course, you won it for free from Subway.

Next, the release date: June 7, 2011. To be honest, that's a lot sooner than I expected. Hopefully this game doesn't follow in the footsteps of other Subway prizes, like LittleBigPlanet 2 and Gran Turismo 5 and end up getting delayed.

"Combining all-new dynamic open world gameplay and an evolved karma system, the second chapter in the best-selling franchise promises to bring back everything fans loved about inFAMOUS and more," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "inFAMOUS 2 is Sucker Punch's most ambitious game yet and is poised to once again be PS3's summer blockbuster with a more visceral, emotional and powerful take on the true superhero experience."

Finally, the pre-order bonuses. Stop groaning, you knew they were coming. For Amazon you get 24K Gold Amps, a spiffy looking version of a new weapon that Cole will be wielding in the game. Best Buy will let you play as Kessler, the arch-villain from inFAMOUS. Gamestop will give you a special power, the Lightning Hook, which lets you snare and pull objects closer to Cole. Finally, Wal-Mart also gives a super power for its pre-orderees: an Electrocution Grenade that ties enemies down with arcing electricity. Pre-ordering from any of these retailers will also net you a digital copy of the soundtrack.

Overall, quite a big update from the team at Sucker Punch. Definitely cleared up the air and made a lot of people who eat Subway very happy. The game is looking quite good, hopefully it can live up to the lofty praise that was bestowed upon its predecessor.
