The final book in the Harry Potter series is a big one, and for that reason it's being split into two film adaptations. EA Play and Warner Interactive are taking the same approach with the video game version, have announced an Autumn release for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1.

Length is not the only notable feature of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rather than the usual playful adventures in the Hogwarts School of Magic, Deathly Hallows sees Harry and his closest comrades living like hobos while they seek a series of MacGuffins without the previously standard fall-back plan of having a teacher fix everything in case they bung it up.

This higher-stakes situation makes for a game described by Jonathan Bunney (VP and Head of Production at EA Bright Light) as "darker and more action-oriented" than those prior. Players should expect to zap a lot of evil wizards and critters with Harry's wand. A couple of unhappy Death Eaters can be seen in the provided screenshots, along with evidence of a cover system for popping off spells from safety. Crustacio!
