[Rock Block] November 2nd
Did I ever tell you I don't want you to be my hero?
Published: November 2, 2009
With all these fancy pants music games offering new songs almost every week, we figured we'd come up with a quick, easy (and lazy) way to consolidate all the news of what you'll find on the PlayStation Store and in the games' own stores (if they have 'em) each and every Thursday. Handy? Yeah, we know, but that's just the way we roll.
Bear in mind that this includes both the obvious titles like the various Rock Bands and Guitar Heroes out there, but can also include straight karaoke affairs Sony's own SingStar titles or the Karaoke Revolution games too, not to mention stuff from other publishers that fit neatly into this category. No, there won't always be stuff for those other games, but at the very least, the tidal wave of DLC can be easily managed right here. Bear in mind that in many of the bigger games, the DLC will work for both the newest and previous entries into the series, so just because you don't have the latest and greatest versions, we'll still be able to keep you up to date.
Yes, we love you too.
[Guitar Hero 5]
Well, there are no new tracks to speak of until later on in the month when the Lenny Kravitz (YUCK) track pack comes out, as well as a KISS pack even later. Then around Thankgsgiving there will be a free track pack of songs by Neversoft staff members. More on all of that later.
Now that Band Hero is about to hit, I should also mention that 61 of the Band Hero tracks will be importable into GH5, which goes to show that Band Hero is a complete gimmick and is just a silly way to branch the "Hero" franchise out even further. I do NOT approve! Also, many of the GH5 stock songs will be available to import into Band Hero, which I sure hope to hell you didn't even buy, you girlie-man!( or manly-girl!)
In still more GH "news", a breaking story wafted into the office today like an old fart. Seems that the GH franchise is the first music game franchise to have one million friends on Facebook! That averages out to over 2500 birthday reminders per day! How will Guitar Hero be able to maintain all those friendships! It's gonna be stretched too thin!
[DJ Hero]
Oh god, here we go... another game to ooze more DLC that we are forced to tell you about.... let the start of the DJ Hero Track Packs begin! This weeks mix-up madness includes:
“All Of Me” by 50 Cent featuring Mary J. Blige vs. “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen
“DARE” by Gorillaz vs. “Can’t Truss It” Performed by Public Enemy
$5.99 for the "pack" of two (four?) songs.
[Rock Band 2]
Nothing yet... but the day is young!
