I love seeing simulations of major sporting events. Don't ask me why, it's just this weird thing that always intrigues me. According to EA Sports and FIFA Soccer 12 this year's MLS Cup will be heading to Los Angeles. In front of a sold-out crowd at The Home Depot Center the Galaxy were able to hold on to a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo.

The Galaxy got goals from David Beckham (7th minute) and Robbie Keane (62nd minute) to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Houston clawed back in it with Geoff Cameron's goal in the 73rd minute to cut the lead to one. Landon Donovan put things out of reach, though, with a score in the 86th minute to clinch the LA Galaxy's third MLS Cup.

EA Sports has a track record of success at predicting winners. This year, EA Sports simulated the entire 2011 MLS regular season, and correctly determined that the LA Galaxy would capture the MLS Supporters’ Shield. The FIFA Soccer game engine also correctly predicted that Spain would win the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The Madden NFL franchise has nailed six of the past eight Super Bowl champions. The NHL series predicted the Chicago Blackhawks would win the 2010 Stanley Cup, the Vancouver Canucks would take home the Presidents' Trophy, and the Stanley Cup Finals matchup of Vancouver and my Boston Bruins.

Fans can compare the score line against the MLS' real-world counterpart on Sunday, November 20 at 9 P.M. ET on ESPN. Two days later at 2 P.M. ET fans will have a special EA Sports Football Club challenge with a storyline pulled from the MLS Cup. Until then feel free to throw out your own predictions in the comments section below.
