What Sam wants to see: More amazing breasts, of course. Heavy Rain started the year off right with some amaaaaz-oh... Oh, wait, you wanted a serious entry. Fine, fine. ...Still wanna see more boobs, though...

No, in all seriousness, I would love to see the new tech that Sony is rolling out this year, stereoscopic 3D and the as-yet unnamed Motion Controller (This is getting embarrassing... -Ed) get a real, proper launch. The 3D side of things already has the backing of Poppa Sony, so there's a good chance that when they start pushing the tech for Blu-ray movies, the PS3, just as it was during the Great Format Wars, will be front and center for those fancy kiosks and such. They've apparently already started including it in the roving consumer tours up in Canada and at the Sony Style store in New York, so it's only a matter of time before the juggernaut hits home. For their part, SCEA seems committed to upholding their end of things on the gaming side by showcasing MotorStorm, Super Stardust HD and GT5 Prologue, so now it's just going to take a big E3 showing to really prove they're behind this.

The Motion Controller, though, is an even bigger issue. Without a ton of games -- and stuff that's both appreciably different from the casual offerings on the Wii, I can't help but think that it'll end up dying a slow death akin to the PSPgo and the PlayStation Eye. The latter is at least getting a new lease on life thanks to it being a key component to the whole motion solution, but I want to see more stuff in the vein of the Resident Evil 5 demo that was shown off at the Tokyo Games Show. Major, big software announcements that run the gamut from, yes, casual-friendly stuff to new IPs that really use the controller in a way that's not possible on other systems is the only way I can see it taking off -- and even then, one of those reveals has to be an absolute killer app. Luckily, I know we're going to be seeing plenty soon, so many of the details like the nunchuck-like add-on and it's possible analog stick/buttons will be known for sure, and at least one announcement in the next couple weeks is either going to excite or disgust fans. I'm hoping it's the former because I'm genuinely excited about the possibilities myself.

Otherwise, Sony just needs to keep the ball rolling. E3 should bring a ton of announcements of final release dates, but if they can just keep the PS3 from failing due to weird calendar glitches and super-low supply issues (both of which seem poised to be fixed in the next few days or so), they've honestly got one of the best ends to a year and starts to a new one that any system has ever had. The PS3 could honestly make a comeback -- something unheard of in the past, but it's going to take sustained sales momentum and some very, very important software announcements. Fingers crossed...
