Playlogic's Fractured Fairytales
What's this? A hack 'n slash where you lay waste to classic children's fable characters?

Okay, we have to give Playlogic's Game Factory development studio some credit for at least coming up with an interesting premise for their upcoming Fairytale Fights: take old fairytale characters and cut 'em to bits. Nothing like tearing into a bunch of fluffy little animals, spilling oceans of "volumetric liquid system"-powered blood, eh?
"Fairytale Fights is the creative brainchild of our talented development team at Playlogic Game Factory and that’s why we wanted it to be the first next-gen title that Playlogic is building in-house from the ground up," explains Playlogic EVP Rogier Smit. "The game combines a truly unique storyline and fantasy environment with simple intuitive controls to offer players a whole new level of bloody slice-and-dice gaming."
The fractured fable of an over-the-hill fairytale character traipsing through storybook lands, apparently lopping off parts of models "in real-time" certainly sounds interesting. We're guessing the ability to "dynamically slice through 3D models" means it's pretty much cutting 'em down right where you slice (or Playlogic's going to have some 'splaining to do, as we've kinda been able to cut up enemies for a while now), and the idea of rivulets and geysers of blood being able to "splatter across surrounding trees and leaves" sounds promising, as does "the ability to skid through puddles of blood left by fallen foes."
Neato. We'll fill you in on the deets once we get the chance to actually make with the hacky slashy Unreal Engine 3-powered fun before it hits this Fall.
