[Shipping Out] April 21st
The PS3, PS2 and PSP get some Japanese (mech)-fighting madness.
Published: April 21, 2009
Welcome to Shipping Out, our weekly notice of all them thar games that ship from publishers to retailers in preparation for their street date a day later. In many cases, these games won't be on store shelves until tomorrow, but in the interest of getting the word out, letting the PR departments have their fancy quotes and saving us sanity as the weekly releases pile up, we're going to be consolidating everything down into one handy little news story at the end of the day, along with this description. Neat, eh? And lazy!
It's the TPS way.
[PlayStation 3]
[Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2]
Japanese kids (and quite possibly many grown ups as well) love their mech/suit fighting games. So here's another one: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is out now.
“DYNASTY WARRIORS:GUNDAM 2 thrusts players into incredible battles against legions of enemy Mobile Suits on distant planetary surfaces and in the far reaches of outer space. For the first time, DYNASTY WARRIORS:GUNDAM 2 let players engage in melee battles against colossal enemies such as the Psyco Gundam. The massive Psyco Gundam can quickly reconfigure their bodies into titanic mobile fortresses which can move with remarkable speed. However, highly-trained pilots can utilize their own Mobile Suit’s speed, agility, and of course firepower to defeat these deadly juggernauts.”
“DYNASTY WARRIORS:GUNDAM 2 also includes new stories and features Mobile Suits spanning Gundam’s anime history including Char’s Counter Attack, Gundam Wing and more. With Mobile Suit parts collected throughout the course of the game, players will be able to construct new Mobile Suits to take into battle. Additionally, players can take their favorite Mobile Suits and engage others in action-packed online versus modes on Xbox LIVE® for Xbox 360 and the PLAYSTATION 3 system’s PlayStation®Network.”
[PlayStation 2]
[Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2]
Of course there's also a PS2 version.
[PlayStation Portable]
[Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce]
And a PSP Dynasty Warriors game which is not out yet but has already achieved gold status. The game will ship in less than a week on April 28th.
“DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce is a game unlike any other in the series. For the first time, up to four friends can join together to form a "Strikeforce." As a team, players will travel to different towns, embark on quests, and use coordinated assaults to conquer heavily-armed fortresses and colossal beasts. End of level bosses await intrepid heroes with a multitude of guises and deadly attacks while enemies, spread throughout each stage, possess much greater levels of intelligence and more powerful attacks. So now more than ever it's imperative that players work together as a team and find ways to overcome the challenges and obstacles that stand between them and victory.
New "Fury" transformations give characters even greater supernatural abilities and attacks, including lightning fast speed and the ability to fly. Warriors can now take to the skies and face off against their foes in spectacular aerial combat.“
