Terminal Reality, makers of the completely awesome Terminal Velocity, sent out a press release today bragging about how many upcoming games are using their Infernal Engine. The Infernal Engine is a multiplatform graphics engine that was showcased in Terminal Reality’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The tech comes with more rend’rin’ tricks than a polecat’s got stank. Fancy lighting, shaders, particles, physics, you name it.

OK, so this is all a bit inside baseball for TPS, but they’re so damned enthusiastic about their doodads and whatsits that we couldn’t resist helping them get the word out. To quote Joe Kreiner, VP of Sales and Marketing, "We couldn’t be happier to have this line-up of incredible titles over the coming months... Between all the great games that have licensed the Infernal Engine, and the amazing projects we have developed in-house, it’s shaping up to be another banner year for our company.” Then again, that’s sorta what marketing people sound like all the time.

In any event, we have to be nice to these guys because they’re heavily involved in Def Jam Rapstar, which we’re pretty sure is going to rule the school when it comes out in early October, and I believe I mentioned that these are the people who created Terminal Goddamn Velocity. Here’s a list of stuff:

•Wipeout: The Game (Wii) - currently available
•Disney’s Guilty Party (Wii) - August 26, 2010
•Def Jam Rapstar (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) - October 5, 2010
•The Force Unleashed II (Wii) - October 26, 2010
•The Grinder (Xbox360, PS3) - October 2011
•Thor (Wii, PSP) - May 2011
•Captain America (Wii, PSP) - TBA 2011

Even ignoring all the Wii stuff, it’s a pretty nice spread. The Grinder is a fun looking Gauntlet Legends/Hunter: The Reckoning type of thing, and Marvel Comics properties are so hot right now! Ghostbusters didn’t really set our pants on fire, but it’s nice to see that the development effort that went into the Infernal Engine isn’t going to waste. With Def Jam Rapstar coming out pretty soon, we hope to get our hands on it in the near future. TPS is home to a few aspiring emcees.
