EA Just Doubled Your Reasons To Pre-Order Dead Space 2

Issac has spoken! You'd be a foolish necromorph to not pre-order this for your PS3!

Last month Capcom released (the sadly Xbox exclusive) Dead Rising: Case Zero as a five dollar "pre-LC"/DLC package a few weeks before the release of Dead Rising 2. It proved to be a pretty big hit, and even let you gain 5 levels and associated skills to carry over into the main game when it was released. We here at TPS applaud this practice (although others have decried it as a "paid demo" scam) and are thrilled to see it continuing with the upcoming Dead Space Ignition pre-LC for Dead Space 2. This tidy little package will be available tomorrow (October 12th) for five bucks or free if you pre-order Dead Space 2 at any retailer.

So just to be clear here, if you pre-order any version of Dead Space 2 for the PS3, you get...

- The sequel to this generations reigning survival horror champion (with new multiplayer action!)
- The Dead Space Ignition prequel chapter
- The full version of the previously Wii-exclusive Dead Space: Extraction, with full Move support

That is what we in the business call a value-added proposition!

Dead Space Ignition is going to give salivating fans something to bite into while they wait for Dead Rising 2 in January. Combining an "interactive comic-style story" with a trio of hacking games (Hardware Crack, Trace Route and System Override), expect a slightly more laid-back arcade style experience that is still going to challenge your wits and your reflexes. With a throwback "Choose Your Own Adventure" narrative and multiple endings to encourage replay, there should be enough to keep us sated until the new year.

Dead Space fans are hungry for more Necromorph action and we’re thrilled that they don’t have to wait until January to get their fix. Dead Space Ignition is a great way to jump back into the Dead Space universe while the Visceral development team completes the final stages of Dead Space 2,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer, Dead Space franchise. “Dead Space Ignition will show fans what happens in the hours leading up to the beginning of Dead Space 2 with gameplay that is fast-paced and accessible. It’s a fun way to dig deeper into the fiction, while allowing core fans to give Isaac Clarke an edge in Dead Space 2.”
