If you are looking to save some money and play some games that you might have missed, now is your time to pick up a few new titles that have just recently dropped to $29.99. Sony announced today that seven PlayStation 3 games have joined the list of Greatest Hit titles.
These are all games that have been great sellers and have been out for at least a year (with the odd exception of MAG) but may be slowing a bit in sales. This is a great way to breathe new life into some of the best selling titles on the PlayStation 3, especially those with multiplayer. The Greatest Hits edition of Killzone 2 for example brought in a lot of fresh blood to, well, kill.
The newest additions to the “Greatest Hits” library include:
MAG
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
Demon’s Souls
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Tekken 6
For those who are unsure of what qualifies as a “Greatest Hits” title here are the basics; a game needs to be out for at least a full year and needs to sell over 400,000 copies. Now, the publisher has to elect to take on that nice new red banner, fresh advertising and new gamers that it will bring in. Their game sells more copies, you get a great new game at a reduced price, everyone wins! Hooray!
