COD4 Map Packs Incoming
Infinity Ward has been busy, apparently.

To say that Call of Duty 4 is doing well would be like claiming Everest is "a pretty big hill" -- both are gross understatements. Millions of copies of the game have been sold every month across both the PS3 and 360, and the game has even managed to unseat the mighty Halo 3 as the most played game on Xbox live for a couple of stints. No, COD4 isn't "kinda popular," it's a first-person steamroller.
And more content is coming.
Not content to just rest on their laurels, Infinity Ward (with a bit of... encouragement from publisher Activision, we're sure) has been cranking away at multiplayer map packs to help extend the already impressive amount of online play. As it stands now, we only know the content is coming. The deets on the maps, any new gameplay modes, and whatever fun perks and stats the team is adding is still a big mystery. But apparently they're excited about it.
"We've demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content," beams Infinity Ward's Community Manager, Robert Bowling. "We're excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can't wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone."
Well that's... nebulous. As soon as we have more concrete details, we'll share 'em with you.
