Burnout Paradise Gets Bikes, Trophies and More
And Criterion continues to make us feel like special little snowflakes for it.

This Thursday sees the release of the hotly-anticipated free expansion for Burnout: Paradise for the PlayStation 3. This expansion includes a fully-functioning day/night cycle, with the time of day affecting the behavior of the traffic. Want to plough through roads jammed with angry commuters? Head out early in the morning to hit the rush-hour. Likewise, if you want a nice relaxing ride with clear roads and moody skies (read: hare across the city like a speed freak with a lead foot) simply hit the roads at night-time where you will find the asphalt blissfully traffic-free. With thirty-eight new timed race events, split between Burning Ride (day) and Midnight Ride (...night), this new update should offer plenty to get your teeth into.
Oh, and another thing. This is the update with the bikes.
With two sexy looking bikes, a choice of male or female rider and a whole new bike license to earn, Criterion are spoiling us more than they could with a whole platter of Ferrero Rocher. Throw in seventy new online Freeburn challenges (accessed in the same manner to the usual online challenges) and you've got an update which many people would be happy to pay for - be prepared to be tickled pink to get it for free.
This seems to be the tip of the ice-berg with regards to DLC for Burnout: Paradise whether free or otherwise and it shows great promise for things to come.
Keep an eye out on the official Burnout web site or the team's Youtube channel BUrnouTTeamrOCKS [emphasis mine].
