Though they've hinted at a handful of projects being for "next generation consoles" (with the S), Ubisoft has played coy with what games they have coming to the PlayStation 3. There's the absolutely stunning Assassin's Creed, of course, which we can't get enough of, but that's not coming until next year. Truth be told, Ubisoft's clear attention right now is on Nintendo's Wii, and though we're bummed the launch of our precious PS3 won't get the same kind of attention, it's at least nice to know we're getting something.

Except that something happens to be Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII a dogfight and dive-bomb arcade flight game that met with less than favorable reviews when it hit on the PC and Xbox 360 at that system's launch. But hey, we don't know that the game won't be improved a little; the nine or so months between the last release and this one -- so long as it wasn't spent actually learning how to program for the PS3 -- could mean an improved game.

At the very least, PlayStation 3 owners are getting some basic additions. The PS3's now-infamous wireless controller and it's stop-saying-we-stole-it-from-Nintendo built-in motion sensor will apparently be employed (we're betting it's something similar to what Warhawk is doing, but there's no confirmation just yet), and there's a very nebulous promise of "exclusive new content" with right now amounts to 16-person multiplayer matches and new missions.

The missions as they exist right now were ripped directly from history -- World War II as the game's title would hopefully make it plain -- which means lots of familiar locations and landmarks as you dogfight through the Battle of Britain, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Berlin and the mega-clash at Midway. The game will be developed by the mystery team at Ubisoft Romania (yes, there's really a development house in Romania, stop snickering).

Expect more info as we inch closer to the November release of both the game and the system it'll find a new home on, and rest assured that we'll make sure we pass the goods along as soon as we get 'em.
