Oft-delayed and over-sexified upcoming brawler Bayonetta might not be hitting (U.S.) stores this year, but that doesn't mean you can't vote on potentially creepy fan art, or be a potentially creepy fan voter picking Maxim models who best represent the eponymous heroine.

On July 22, 2009, SEGA® of America, Inc. announced the launch of “Bayonetta Re-Envisioned,” a user-generated art contest at WizardUniverse.com centered on the heroine of SEGA’s BAYONETTA™ video game. After a month and more than 100 submissions, Wizard and SEGA selected their favorite entries which are now posted here for fans to vote on. While the final decision will be determined by PlatinumGames, the developers of BAYONETTA, the votes will be used to assist the judges in determining the Grand Prize winner, as well as the top 10 runners-up, who will each be awarded with an autographed copy of the game. The winners will be announced in October, 2009.

Not to be outdone by mere drawings, Maxim has struck back with actual real women who have no idea what Bayonetta is (is that the thing that hold up my hair?), all vying to become America's next top Booth Babe. If you know of any low-self-esteem ladies, check this out...

Bayonetta already promises to be the most distinctive videogame star of 2010 whose long flowing hair is as lethal as the guns in her ankle holsters. Her unique look, combined with the acrobatic nature of her attacks, provide the ideal attributes for an aspiring model to bring Bayonetta to life. The winning contestant will be spotlighted on Maxim.com and receive a Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, a 50 inch Panasonic TC-P50X1 HDTV Plasma TV and a copy of BAYONETTA for the Xbox 360®. Becuase PS3's are too classy for these chicks.

“Bayonetta is lethal – she’s beautiful but brutal. We’re convinced she will stir up the Maxim readers.” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “We can’t wait to see the Maxim.com audience rise to the challenge of trying to find us a real life Bayonetta.”

Oh and just in case you were not aware...

BAYONETTA is a cinematic, stylized action game from the famed creative mind of renowned game developer, Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames. Bayonetta, the game’s protagonist, is a graceful, gun-wielding witch who awakens after being entombed in a coffin at bottom of a lake for 500 years with no memory. As players embark on this quest with Bayonetta, they will begin to unfold the mystery behind her past and her purpose in the game, such as why she fights against angels and other countless fantastic enemies. In combat, Bayonetta uses weapons, magic, acrobatics and her larger-than-life hair to redefine the look and feel of the action genre.
