Batman and Mahatma Gandhi or something

FINALLY it seems like the long dry summer period might be coming to an end. For the first time in months we are seeing a major release for PS3! Which is good, since I am still finishing up inFamous and I haven't even started Red Faction. Still, this week is a little barren, but who would want to compete with the Dark Knight? Let's take a look at what's new this week...

PlayStation 3

Batman:Arkham Asylum

It's Batman. Arkham Asylum. In stores now. But you know that since you are already playing it. Don't forget that the PS3 has the exclusive (timed?) Joker content, so if you are playing it on your Xbox, you suck. I don't think anything more needs to be said! Read our review whenever it goes up!

F.E.A.R. 2 : Reborn DEMO

I'm sure this is not a first, but I'm not sure when I remember there being a demo for DLC before. But that's exactly what hit the PSN today... a demo for F.E.A.R. 2 : Project Origin DLC Reborn. So if you aren't sure you want to plunk down the $5-10 this will cost when the full version (of the DLC) hits Sept. 3, be sure to check out what Monolith is offering.

This free demo provides the first chance to get a hands-on look at the upcoming single-player campaign, featuring four all new levels. F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn immerses gamers in the aftermath of Alma’s destruction with a mysterious new point-of-view: that of Replica Soldier Foxtrot 813. Be careful, not all is as it seems.

PSP

Warriors Orochi 2

Hey a WARIIORS game! Oh KOEI, you sly devils... no one saw THIS coming! I thought for sure the last installment in this 30 part series was the last, but oh no, you fooled us all! I mean, you waited like 2 whole months between WARRIORS games! I thought the franchise was dead for sure! It thought this game already came out for the PS2! But clearly you fooled me. Check out the details of WO2...

Shattering time and space, the venomous Serpent King Orochi kidnapped history's greatest warriors in a scheme to test his might. The heroes eventually defeated Orochi and his menacing army. Now the slain Orochi lies in the netherworld, and a mysterious alliance is hatching a plan to resurrect Orochi.

With four different storylines featuring characters from SAMURAI WARRIORS® and DYNASTY WARRIORS®, WARRIORS OROCHI 2 includes three new game modes: Dream, VS and Survival, as well as "Tag Team"-style matches that pit fighters in head-to-head arena combat.

A star-studded lineup boasts 96 playable characters including the massive boar-like Gyuki and the faceless Dodomeki. New playable characters exclusive to the PSP system include the graceful San Zang and the warrior-monk Benkei.

New features exclusive to the PSP system also include: 2-Player VS mode plus Co-op play in Story, Free and Dream modes, 12 new scenarios in Dream mode, and a Japanese and English voice option.

PlayStation 2(!)

Mana Khemia 2:Fall of Alchemy

HAKUNA MATATA! That's all I can think when I seee this title. Maybe it's because I have never played (or really heard of) any Maha Khemia game. Amazingly, they are STILL putting out PS2 games! I'm not sure what I can say about this latest opus from Nippon Ichi, so I will just use their own (fractured) words.

It comes in a premium box, including a double sided poster and a soundtrack.

Mana Khemia 2 has two main characters, Raze and Ulrika. You can choose the main character at the beginning of the game.

Each character has different story line, so you can actually enjoy two separated stories in one game!

Mana Khemia 2 has very pretty graphics, and its battle system, grow book, and more are improved from Mana Khemia.

There you have it. Prety graphics, and you can choose your character (at the beginning of the game)! Sounds like a winner to me.
