Warhawk Tournament Shows off its Figure
Prizes include figurines and in-game weaponry.

Looks like Sony Computer Entertainment America is getting into the figurine business with new Warhawk Limited Edition Statues from Gentle Giants Studios. Well, perhaps not completely into the figurine business, as these figurines are one of two prizes players can win in the Official Warhawk Team Tournament, the other being a weapon that replaces the in-game knife and looks different enough that no one will confuse it for something else offered in-game. It can only be acquired by winning the tournament.
Sony has put up a practice ladder for that tournament that will be reset on the 27th of May when the official Ladder Stage is put up. Challenge squads, play matches, and move up the ladder on your way to the finals. Points are awarded both for winning and playing. On the 29th of June, the Ladder Stage will end and the top 32 squads will advance to a single-elimination bracket. The winner of the bracket takes home the prize.
Squad numbers aren't predetermined and slots can even be filled with the “Find/Form a Squad” forum. The prize tournament is only open to US residents, but Warhawk players the world over can join open competition ladders in GGL's Warhawk Game Group.
If you're constantly in Warhawk, this contest is definitely for you. And if you're not, then it's a good enough reason to get in and get good before the start of the official Ladder stage.
