THQ and Big Huge Games are Making... Something
No, man, that's the best part. Nobody knows what the hell it is!

“THQ has built its business by identifying the right content to compete and win in the genres gamers are most passionate about,” begins Kelly Flock, EVP of worldwide publishing at THQ, in decidedly nebulous fashion. “Partnering with Ken Rolston and the rest of the team at Big Huge Games is a major win for THQ and marks a bold, first move into the traditional Role-Playing Game space.”
“We’ve wanted to do an RPG for years and I think we have a great direction that will knock everyone’s socks off,” further clouded Tim Train, president and COO of Big Huge Games. “THQ’s ability to create and grow new intellectual properties, and their reputation for fantastic developer support, made them the ideal partner to bring our dream game to market.”
“I’m flabbergasted by the talent, craft and boundless energy of the Big Huge Games team,” boisterously praised Ken Rolston, lead designer at Big Huge Games before delving deep into detail about the new proj--oh, no he didn't, he kept it nice and vague too. “In such splendid company, I’m privileged to embark on a bold pilgrimage to create a refreshingly original RPG experience. I know eager game fans will share our excitement as we reveal further details in the coming months.”
What do all three of these quotes have in common? They tell you precisely jack shiznite about what the hell is coming out of THQ and Big Huge Games' deal to make a next-gen RPG other than the fact that it's going to be the brainchild of Morrowind and Oblivion designer Ken Rolston (yes, the dude in that last quote). Now, it almost makes sense when you realize the game isn't coming out until twenty-ought-nine. Early announcements aren't unheard of, but news that a game is coming out in 2009 probably could have waited until it at least had a working title.
But hey, it's coming, and apparently everyone at THQ and Timonium, Maryland-based Big Huge Games are just giddy with excitement about it. Once we learn more, we may be too. When that happens, we'll make sure we pass along the excitement!
