Leave it to Electronic Arts to ensure their development outlook is as all-console encompassing as possible, even if it means milking their core franchises for all they’re worth. Case in point? PlayStation 3 (and Wii) owners will be faced with more dirty mob tricks than they can shake a stick at, with today’s announcement of new versions of The Godfather.
The Godfather: The Don’s Edition, specially designed for you PS3 shysters, is an expanded version of the original game. Namely, the inclusion of new gameplay and missions aptly titled The Corleone Expansion Pack. On the mean streets of the Big Apple, players can claim the role of either an Enforcer or Operator, each with their respective advantages. Now put those shining social skills to work with even more success, with the added ability of talking to specific characters to get the dirt on crooked cops in town.
As for bonuses? Say hello to an additional pair of revised compounds for rival Families, five new executable contract hits, Corleone Hit Squads that now come in greater numbers when you need ‘em most, and exclusively for the PS3, new transportation hubs in the Rail and Shipyards for you to sniff about in. Even the SixAxis gets a little love, enabling you to “manhandle your controller to manhandle your opponent.” That’s right, get angry.
Making Don ain’t no walk in the park, soldier. See if you’re cut out for it when The Godfather: The Don’s Edition hits retailers this March.
