Stupid Sony. Up until now, we were perfectly happy entertaining ourselves with their weekly to bi-weekly updates of the PlayStation Store, with more downloadable titles, game demos and er, movie trailers, than we could shake a SixAxis at. But lo and behold, Phil Harrison and co. just had to get us thinking of the awesome community-building potential of the PS3 with PlayStation Home.

Nevertheless, we’ll remain faithful to our humble PSN updates! And heck, this week you’ll even get kick some digital buttocks in dee-licious 1080p with Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection making its long-awaited leap into next-gen territory.

Now if only we could get someone to comme—yes, Mr. Iwai!

"The release of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will give players their first opportunity to experience the intensity of the ultimate fighting franchise on a next-gen system," details Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO at Namco Bandai Games America Inc. "With spectacular HD visuals, killer gameplay modes and the biggest playable line-up of Tekken characters to date, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection raises the bar in fighting games."

And did someone ask for a new firmware update and some honest-to-goodness, behind-the-scenes video action for a certain mud-slingin’ PS3 title? Dig the full list o’ additions, courtesy of Copy and Paste Inc.:

-- Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ($19.99) – The hit that exploded onto the PSP system and arcades now sets out to conquer a new platform, the PS3 system, in stunning 1080p HD resolution! The cast of characters are all fully playable and visually customizable in this version, along with the playability of Jinpachi, the game's formidable end-boss.
-- MotorStorm (free video) – Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Evolution Studios and learn how they designed MotorStorm, launching March 6 exclusively on the PS3 system. This video features footage from the team's shoot in Utah's Monument Valley and in-depth interviews with the lead game designer and producers.
-- Download a trailer for an upcoming movie from Warner Bros.

Firmware 1.54 includes the following updates:
-- Screen Mode has been added as an option in the options menu for video chat. The image of the person you are chatting with during video chat can now be changed to match the screen size.
-- You can now use a compatible USB camera (webcam) compliant with USB video class (UVC) for video chat.

For the full firmware scoop (and update instructions, if you need ‘em), be sure to mosey on down to the Sony site. The entire update should be anxiously awaiting your download as we speak. Go git it!
