Spidey's Back

Day and date with the movie release, web-head is hitting the PS2/3.

The Spider-Man 3 video game gives fans the chance to relive their favorite scenes from the film, as well as new storylines brought to life by movie talents Tobey Maguire, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church, James Franco and J.K. Simmons,” quickly barked Activision's Rob Kostich, VP of global brand management before we could even think of a smarmy intro for our story. “Players will swing into action and choose to follow the film plot or new storylines, fight off crime waves, explore vast exterior and underground locations or battle super-villains while harnessing the power of the black suit.”

Well crap, Rob, why don't you just summarize our whole news story in a single paragraph? While Jerky McTo-The-Point there pretty much nailed it, leaving us with nothing to say beyond our usual witless banter and space-filling prattling, we can at least use this space to mention that we offered updated impressions just a few weeks ago or even that we got our first peek a couple months ago.

Yeahhh, self-pimpage, that's a good way to distract from the fact that we haven't actually gotten the game in yet (never a good sign, though we'll fully admit we aren't always privy to finished builds of the game before hand, and this is a licensed title, but still...), nor have we been able to get a pre-emptive review up for the folks sitting on the fence or looking for a way to relive the movie experience (it also opened today, though you Spidey freaks were already lined up for last night's Midnight showing. C'mon, cop to it).

Ah well, thanks to Rob offering the perfect pull quote, we're pretty much out of steam here. And yet, somehow, we still managed to make this news story almost seem long. Hmmm...
