Civilization, the turn-based strategy game which lets you build an empire from the ground up, has been a favorite of gamers for as long as we can remember. If the game existed during prehistoric times, we're pretty sure that cavemen would be playing it when they weren't busy discovering fire or promoting insurance companies. The previous game, Civilization IV, was named "Game of the Year" by several entities in 2005. The full title of the new game is Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, and it's slated to conquer the PS3 during Spring 2008. With a release this far off, however, nothing is set in stone.

The series is well known in the PC gaming universe and has traditionally allowed players to build an empire from the ground up, all while delegating governmental tasks, updating technologies, managing diplomacy, and erecting buildings. Since it's inception 1991, the game has seen several releases across multiple platforms and shows no sign of slowing down now. It's unknown as to what changes and additions will be found in Civilization Revolution that will make it so revolutionary, but we'll let you know as soon as we get the details.
