Harmonix and MTV games decided to toot their own horn and let us know that the Rock Band series now has over 200 songs available for download, and that so far, there have been over 12 million DLC sales. DLC may still be in its infancy, and with hiccups such as the Oblivion horse armor, it was hard to imagine the concept going over well with gamers. But now, it seems as if sensible DLC could prove to be a successful business model.

Obviously, Harmonix and MTV games don't disagree. Just after they announced that the Pixies' Doolittle would be coming to the PSN on June 26 ($18.99 for the album, $1.99 per track), they also announced a smaller DLC update taking place next Thursday. The update will contain:

"Afterlife" (Avenged Sevenfold)
"Critical Acclaim" (Avenged Sevenfold)
"Hammerhead" (The Offspring)
"Rock 'n' Roll Dream" (Crooked X)

All of which are $1.99, except for the Crooked X track which will be $.99.
