The Rayman Cometh
Michel Ancel's platformer will hit every platform possible this Holiday season, including... your mind (okay, not that last one).

With the kind of love and adoration followers of the blindingly gorgeous Rayman series have had, it's no surprise that Ubisoft has decided to give the go-ahead to another follow-up. It should be noted that this is the first game in the series that creator Michel Ancel has worked on since Rayman 2, and comes after plenty of accolades for his work on original titles like Beyond Good and Evil and King Kong.
Nothing about the game is known so far, save for perhaps that it will look amazing if the previous games are any indication, and we're betting there'll be a fair amount of platforming to be had. Ubisoft has slated the game for a Holiday 2006 release on both current and next-gen consoles so expect to see the little armless, legless dude's face plastered all over game boxes everywhere come December.
“Rayman is one of the brands that encapsulate Ubisoft’s ability to create characters and universes that appeal to all kinds of players,” giggled Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO upon hearing the good news. “We are expecting this new Rayman video game to sweep players off their feet.”
As soon as we have an official title, screenshots, info -- anything -- we'll be sure to pass it along.
