Ratchet & Clank PS3-Bound
Insomniac’s loveable duo will be making the next-gen leap.
Published: March 22, 2006
Insomniac Games may seemingly have its hands full with its forthcoming next-gen shooter (formerly I-8, now called Resistance and confirmed for a 2006 release), but the first-party developer hasn’t abandoned its star platforming duo just quite yet.
At this morning’s Sony keynote address, ringing in the 2006 Game Developers Conference, Insomniac CEO briefly took the stage to show off the company’s current PS3 projects. In addition to running a demo of Resistance, Price proceeded to show off a clip of a yet-to-be-announced title. As a traffic-heavy futuristic metropolis soon came to life on-screen and subsequent game logo, though, it became clear: Ratchet & Clank were coming to the PlayStation 3.
Little is known on the title thus far, but seeing as the series ended on a shooter-geared note on the PS2, it will interesting to see if the next-gen installment will return to its platforming roots. E3, here we come!
