A Double Dose of Gold
Namco's launch titles finally go gold just a little more than a week before launch.

This is what you'd call pushing things down to the wire. While most developers are sitting on boxed retail copies of games (Activision even shipped retail copies of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Project 8 yesterday), Namco has finally finished up the launch versions of Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire and Ridge Racer 7, stamping them gold and pushing them out for mass processing so that they can be there on November 17th along with the PS3.
“We are very excited to be a part of the PlayStation 3 system launch frenzy by having not just one, but two of our most popular franchises launch with the revolutionary new hardware,” grinned Makoto Iwai, SVP of Development at Namco Bandai Games America Inc. “With the unprecedented speed and exhilaration of Ridge Racer 7 and the futuristic combat of Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire, we are very proud to offer up something new for every PlayStation 3 system owner to enjoy.”
And really, that's all there is to say. Our earlier impressions of the game have been well documented (clicky on the names for Gundam and [ps3preview]Ridge Racer 7[/ps3preview] previews), and now all we can do is wait. Wow, we really are just a few days from launch. Freaky, innit?
