[Pre-E3 2006] Pandemic Ignites Mercenaries 2
And it's hottttt!

A word of warning, folks. When the Electronic Entertainment Expo kicks off in Los Angeles next week, it will be engulfed in not only swarms of eager gamers, dogged press and grinning industry peeps, but also -- get this -- flames. That's right, fire. Blazes. Fuego. Don't believe us? We suggest you take it up with Pandemic Studios. After all, not only did the accomplished developer deliver to us one of the best selling original IPs from last year, Mercenaries, but they're back with a sequel. It's called Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, it's going next-gen and it's ready to set this year's show on fiyahhhh!
“While the original Mercenaries’ high-octane, go anywhere, do anything and blow the crap out of everything style was a hit with gamers, the whole experience was screaming to run on next-generation game systems,” insists Pandemic CEO Andrew Goldman. “And while we’re building on the core mercenary experience we created for the original, we’ve taken full advantage of next-gen technology to offer a more richly detailed, reactive, living world than gamers have ever seen before.”
That next-gen power has allowed the team to build its signature "playground of destruction" from the ground up, rife with the smokin' vehicles and weapons needed to get the job done. The game will take place in a yet-to-be-named "exotic hotspot," where the self-employed, open-ended chaos serves one purpose only: money. The life of a mercenary is a tough one alright.
Pandemic has been mum on any further game details, but promises to go all out come Day 1 of E3 2006. Until then, we can try and make sense out of this teaser site.
