Madden Calls the Super Bowl

Wanna know what a bunch of ones and zeroes have to say about the outcome of Sunday's big game? Read on to find out.

You know what's fun? Watching all those stats and calculations poured into the yearly sports outings being turned into a little digital soothsaying. It's not just that we like to laugh and point at a game trying to guess the outcome of things purely by stats -- after all, Super Bowl match-ups have so much emotion and stress going for them that they can swing things plenty far from what the points would have you think -- it's also that we're genuinely interested in seeing how good they are.


See, for years (literally seven years in a row), Sony's on 989 Sports-developed GameDay games held a Game Before the Game event that routinely picked the winner of the bowl based on how players from the teams squaring off played. With GameDay now dusted, it falls to Madden NFL 07 to make that call. And the results are in.

The Colts are gonna take it, 38-27. We've got a handful of screens and, in a nice touch, a tasty movie, that help outline some of the individual accomplishments, but if you want a text breakdown, we can do that for ya too:
