Kane & Lynch Headed to PS3
Eidos finally confirms what most had hoped or expected: Io Interactive's two-man drama is headed to the big black behemoth.

Though it was only announced for the Xbox 360 many moons ago, most folks held out hope that what seemed like an exclusive in Kane & Lynch would eventually make its way onto the PlayStation 3. Even if it did happen, there was a good chance that it would be delayed by who knows how many months and if the port wasn't being handled by seasoned Copenhagen-based Io Interactive (the folks behind the awesome Freedom Fighters and Hitman series) it would probably be crap like most other PS3 port hand-me-downs.
Chalk it up to seeing early footage of the game in an now-infamous (and quite impossible to find) video clip with one of the main characters weaving their way through a throngs of clubgoers as a fantasic dance track (that we hope was a Jasper Kyd) built to a peak and then crashed all over our ears. Even via what looked like crappy near-camera phone video and tinny audio, we could hear the audio being modeled differently in different parts of the club, with just the bass bleeding through the walls in some parts.
But until now, all we could do was stare wistfully at those 360 owners, our noses mashed up against the glass in the hopes they'd eventually invite us in to get down with the story of a two-man assassin/psycho duo in a quest for revenge and redemption. Well them days be over, and it couldn't be a more clear-cut confirmation:
“Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for the PlayStation 3 system will allow all next-generation gamers to savour the cinematic action and high-definition visuals of the game,” quipped Darren Barnett, Eidos Interactive's Development Director. “Kane & Lynch sets a new standard for mature games and we’re pleased to be extending the experience to the PlayStation 3 system consumers as well as Xbox 360 and PC gamers.”
All three versions are being handled by Io, who have had zero issues with cramming their games onto even aging hardware like the PS2, and in a nice little twist, the PS3 version will be hitting simultaneously with the other two, all arriving by the Holidays of this year. If you'll excuse us, we have some happy dancing to do, and it's quite possible we won't stop until the break o' dawn.
