Rockstar Launches Official Grand Theft Auto IV Website

Do I really need to say anymore? You were going to click this regardless

Gamers, your prayers have been answered. Rockstar has launched the official Grand Theft Auto IV Website!

Set in Liberty City, where the American dream goes to die, the game follows Niko Bellic, a European man trying to escape from his past. The official website introduces us to a host of memorable characters like Roman Bellic, successful entrepreneur and Niko's cousin, Manny Escuela, a community leader from South Bohan, and Vlad Glebov, a Russian-born money lender who doesn't look like he'd be too happy if you crossed him.

Users can channel their inner Niko by rummaging through the links to Whiz Wireless Communication, the social network of the future, Sprunk, an entertaining game revolving around a can of volatile soda by the same name, and Love Meet, a personality quiz that helps for meeting that special someone. Bridging the gap between this world and Liberty City, the official website pulls users deeper into the game world than ever before. Just don't get lost.

If that's not enough to wet your whistle and get you more excited for this game than you already were (and let's face it, you were excited), users can partake in Liberty City's fine forms of entertainment, and, no, we aren't talking about the prostitutes. Check out Liberty City's improvisational rhythm group Banging Trash Can Lids for an Hour and the Swingers, Liberty City's all-star baseball team who claims to be disease-free. Who wouldn't want to spend all their time, and money, enjoying what Liberty City has to offer?

When it comes to downloads, Rockstar doesn't disappoint. New screens, screensavers, videos, widgets, posters, icons, and avatars flesh out the experience, giving even the most staunch Grand Theft Auto supporter GTA-overload. Looks like it's time for a hard drive upgrade.

Even with GTAIV's April 29th release date looming close, the game can't come soon enough. Something tells me that with a site that looks this good and Rockstar's history of constantly spoon-feeding visitors scraps of new content on a regular basis, I may find myself visiting the online version of Liberty City more than just once.
