Special Edition of GTA IV Announced

Rockstar wants to make off like a bandit with it's newest release in the series, and this $89.99 version of GTA IV is going to help them do just that.

Money money money money, mooooney. Those who feel like plunking down the extra 30 bucks for this special edition, which launches alongside the standard version, will be treated to a bevy of goodies courtesy of Rockstar. Unfortunately there's no additional content within the game itself, that's going to most likely cost you extra when and if it goes up for download on the network after the game's release.

What you will get, however, is some pretty fancy swag. Special packaging within a metal saftey deposit box, a book full of artwork featuring behind the scenes development art, a soundtrack that's not going to be available elsewhere, a keychain so you don't lose the keys to your safety deposit box, and a duffel bag. Rockstar promises that the items are quality and will give you a "unique Grand Theft Auto IV experience". I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure that the only thing capable of giving me a GTA experience is, well, the game.

Is it worth the extra cash? If you're obsessed a fan of the game or a budding eBay mogul, it probably will be. Rockstar wouldn't skimp on any special edition, especially for its most popular franchise. North America will be able to get their hands on Grand Theft Auto IV when the game comes out on October 16th, three days before the European release. Wait, only a three day wait for Europe? That has to be a typo.
