There is no disputing the kind of waves Grand Theft Auto has made since its unforeseen explosion onto the PlayStation 2 in 2001. It has made unprecedented steps both in evolving the modern videogame as it has in outraging every outspoken politician under the sun. But as future of game consoles and the possibilities on them is now slowly coming to fruition, so the blockbuster franchise is making its transition in to the next generation.

Grand Theft Auto IV is real. It's so real, in fact, that Take-Two Interactive has taken it upon itself to proudly announce the title for both PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

And while haven't the slightest clue what to expect, we know when to expect it: October 16, 2007 in North American, and three days later in Europe. A familiar time window for Rockstar Games for sure, and with the Rockstar North team once again at the helm, the results are sure to be nothing short of... groundbreaking? We're hoping so too.
