Codemasters Spills the Race Driver: GRID Multiplayer Beans
Well, crashing the beans might be more like it.

Seems Codemasters is serious about this whole online racing thing because they've announced that Race Driver: GRID will feature 32 online race events on 80 different circuits at 15 different locations. That's a whole lot of racing.
To take things just a hair further, because all of those numbers weren't enough to make your head spin, they're also letting 12 folks jump into the races. Together. Against each other.
"Race Driver: GRID online is the ultimate expression of what the game is all about – incident-packed, aggressive, wheel-to-wheel racing," said Ralph Fulton, Chief Game Designer, Race Driver: GRID . "Our wide range of motorsport disciplines, stunning locations and full damage 12-player races make for a uniquely spectacular race experience and our immersive new ranking system rewards player skill and deepens the challenge online."
Of course, none of this matters if you couldn't use your own car online, so Codemasters decided that the best thing to do was let players use that completely tweaked out car that they've been fiddling with in the single-player portion of the game online. Players will also be able to find games quickly, with wait times being minimal, if not existent. There's also a new online ranking system, with experience points awarded based on various achievements the player performs.
Leaderboards complete the package, with fastest laps plastered all over the place. Players can even download ghost cars to race against and improve their time. There's also a Spectator mode, where players can watch the competition before it's their turn.
Race Driver: GRID hits the PlayStation 3 on May 30th, but you can check out the demo on the PlayStation Network right now.
