Ubi Extends its Enchancted Arms

FromSoftware’s fantastical RPG makes the move to PS3.

PlayStation 3 owners eager to get knee-deep in some epic Japanese role-playing may have just the remedy coming their way. Ubisoft announced today that Enchanted Arms, once an Xbox 360 exclusive title here in the states (and further exemplifying the term’s newfound lack of substance), will be making the jump to Sony’s powerhouse, and not without a few tricks up its proverbial sleeve.

Crafted by FromSoftware, Enchanted Arms lets players loose in a fantasy world inhabited by assorted and oft bizarre creatures. The game follows Atsuma, an enchanter in the midst of training who, even in his amateur state, is destined to be the sole savior in a war that’s been brewing for a millennium.

Catering to the SixAxis controller, players can employ weapons, recover the EX power meter, unleash staggering attacks and even solve a puzzle or two all with the touch of motion-sensitive magic. The unprecedented SpeedTactics Battle System promises easy navigation, in-battle character mobility and engaging distance-dependent attacks all in one fast-paced package. Clocking in at over 50 hours of gameplay, the game teems with some 500 characters, 130 unlockable creatures (with an extra 30 just for the PS3) to discover and take command of, an all-new English language track (though fear not, the original Japanese dialogue is still available), and over an hour of anime cinematics and video, including an addition 10 minuets of bonus footage.

Are you prepared to be enchanted? Yeah? The adventure begins this March.
