2K Sports Sinks It

College Hoops 2K7 makes its PlayStation 3 debut, and just in the nick of time for March Madness!

We’re not the most sports savvy guys in town (not by a looooong shot), but we literally can’t go anywhere without hearing about this year’s NCAA Men’s Tournament (or as the kids call it, March Madness), from brackets to pools to guys with gambling problems putting their first-born children on the line... it’s craziness! And while we won’t be going tourney-crazy anytime soon, we sure wouldn’t mind kicking back with a little high-definition basketball action in the form of 2K Sports’ College Hoops 2K7, out today.

"We're thrilled to deliver the first and only college basketball video game for the PlayStation 3 system," exudes Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "The excitement for college basketball is at its annual high - great timing for College Hoops 2K7 for the PlayStation 3 system, which delivers the most authentic and captivating college basketball video game experience anywhere."

Here are all the fine-tuned authentic details (coined with fancy buzz words, no less) you’d expect from a 2K Sports title, including Signature Style animations and the “award-winning” Shot Stick. SixAxis also gets a little luv in the free throw department, where players can tilt to every nuance as they shoot from the foul line. Or if you can manage it, get nine of your buds to throw down their brackets and throw down in online play, which has its usual offerings of extensive league features, stat tracking and an all-around college atmosphere. Minus the lame lecture halls.

And what better way to celebrate a release than with TOURNAMENT PREDICTIONS via GAME SIMULATIONS? Here's how 2K called it (in their own fancy sports lingo too!):

Final Four: Wisconsin (pre-Brian Butch injury), Kansas, BC, and Texas A&M
Champion: Wisconsin

Notable matches include:

* Miami of Ohio upsetting Oregon in the first round 60-59
* Gonzaga stomping Indiana in first round 71-53
