While many PS3 fans are disheartened by the sparse support for custom soundtracks so far, 2k Sports' is hoping to satisfy gamers with an underground soundtrack for College Hoops 2K7 rivaling that of... well, the last NBA game to be released.

2K7's soundtrack boasts a legion of artists from both the hip-hop and rock realms. 3rd Degree, Deux Process, Ellay Khule, and Exile are said to be gracing the soundtrack's hip-hop portion, while rock makes a strong appearance as well with bands like Tokyo Police Club, P.O.D, and Cities In Dust are set to complete the yin and yang audio lineup.

In addition to a solid soundtrack, Hoops' tunes will soon be uploaded to "2K Beats", claimed to be "the first Internet radio station by a video game publisher." That's not all, though. 2k Sports is promising music from several of their other titles, as well as additional goodies like artist biographies and photos.

Will the dichotomy of genres work well for the atmosphere of Hoops, or will it fall short of a slam dunk? Hear it for yourself on January 15th.
