Call of Duty 4 Rocks the AIAS
Four big honors for Activision and Infinity Ward at D.I.C.E.'s big awards show.

Hot on the heels of this week's announcement that they were planning to extend the game with downloadable content, Activision and Infinity Ward have walked home from the Annual Interactive Achievements Awards Show in Vegas during the D.I.C.E. Summit with a whopping four top honors for Call of Duty 4.
"Console Game of the Year," "Outstanding Achievement in Online Play," "Action Game of the Year" and "Overall Game of the Year" awards were secured last night by the deserving little shooter. The AIAS Awards come on the heels of COD4 notching massive millions-strong sales numbers over the past few months since its release, something that no doubt pleases publisher Activision. The
“It’s an honor for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to be recognized by the Academy as the best game of 2007,” wept Robin Kaminsky, EVP of publishing at Activision. “The team at Infinity Ward is committed to delivering groundbreaking entertainment to gamers worldwide and all of the awards are an acknowledgement of their talent, dedication and hard work.”
“With Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, we wanted to deliver the best, most intense action experience ever,” beamed studio head and project lead Jason West from developer Infinity Ward. “We’re thrilled and truly appreciate that our efforts have been recognized by the Academy, especially with the incredible competition this year.”
Congrats to the boys and girls at Infinity Ward; they absolutely deserve it.
