Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm Slip to Summer

What? Delays? Noooooooooooo!

Long, long ago, at a time where dinosaurs roamed the earth and the PlayStation 3 was yet to bestow its groundbreaking, glacier-shifting power on a good chunk of the world, Koei was a very present figure in the system’s November launch. One future-friendly hover racer, one epic clash of titans in Medieval Europe, and a double-scoop of Day One awesomeness! Right? …right?

Clearly, such was not the case. Alas, delays fell upon both titles, and we had no choice but to tuck away our speed-demon/army-splitting desires until further notice.

Which brings us to today’s news. First, the hard part: Fatal Inertia and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War, won’t be out until summer (we won't even ask about Ni-Oh). Yes, we know, a tragic if not all-too-common fate for the pair, but keep in mind that it’s probably for the best. A fully-fleshed product versus one rushed out to join the PS3’s current oomph-lacking line-up of original IPs? Yes, we’ll take the latter too.

“Both titles are taking advantage of new game engines and hardware. We are allowing our development teams additional time to further explore the capabilities and potential of each system by extending the product launches for a simultaneous platform release this summer,” explains Amos Ip Senior Vice-President at KOEI Corporation.

Moreover, both games, once intended as exclusives, will also be seeing their day on the Xbox 360. Somehow, someway, in a few months from now, everybody wins.
