Keeping the love for America's greatest scripted sport alive, THQ and Jakks Pacific gave word today of the development of WWE SmackDown! Vs. Raw 2006, the follow-up to last year's wrestling game by the same name (sans the year), currently two million units shipped strong.
"WWE SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2006 showcases all of the excitement and energy of the WWE," insists Peter Dille, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, THQ. "The WWE is one of the premier franchises in the industry and this title is primed to deliver the most intense wrestling gameplay along with true-to-life graphics, resulting in the deepest and most realistic wrestling experience ever."
Ensuring not to fix what isn't broke, the game looks to only refine what its predecessor got right, while throwing in exciting new gameplay features. The new "Momentum System," for one, looks to capture the emotional rollercoaster that WWE matches are known for. In addition, the "Stamina System" will have players thinking twice before using all their energy too early in the match. An extensive online mode is also back in action.
WWE SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2006 looks to please crowds this fall, so if wraslin's your game, start marking the calendar.
