Non-stereotypical Aussie game characters are few and far between. Most of this is probably due to the fact that Australians probably aren't designing the clichéd messes when they get put into games, and likely wouldn't like it too much if they did. Luckily, a constant source of world-friendly OZ expressions and archetypes abound at Krome Studios, the Brisbane-based developer of the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger games.

The latest, Night of the Quinkan isn't quite done yet, but that hasn't stopped Krome from whipping up a web site to help spread the news. Loaded with the usual game site goodies like wallpapers, news blurbs and audio and video clips, but it actually offers quite a bit more in the from of mini-games and a helpful enTYclopedia (we so wish we were making that up) for those wanting to catch up a bit.

There's promises of more content as the game gets closer to wrapping up, and we'll no doubt have more than a few more screens of the boomerang-throwing marsupial with 'tude, so keep you eyes peeled for more updates; as soon as we get 'em, you'll get 'em.
