If Capcom has mastered anything, it's the art (assuming beating a dead horse could be considered such) of the sequel. If it's any consolation for franchise fans who will weep tears of blood once Mega Man X17 arrives and it's a duplicate of eight installments ago, the core (read: good) editions in a series tend to make for damn good anthologies. The Blue Bomber is fresh off his second collection of classics, and now Capcom has hit up its age-old fighting franchise for another trip down nostalgia lane.

We speak of Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, a collage of the Alpha series' finest arcade moments packed into one for the first time. The line-up consists of Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold and Street Fighter Alpha 3, and for good measure, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (previous released as Pocket Fighters).

The featured five offer the Arcade, Versus and Training modes for your pummeling pleasure, while the Alpha games have added Survival mode and Dramatic Battle mode, where 2-on-1 tag team matches are fair game.

Street Fighter Alpha Anthology throws down in retail this summer, but if you're in desperate need of an SF fix, our updated media section should at least cover the visual portion.
