Few companies are capable of simultaneously kicking out amazing updates or sequels to their classic franchises and introducing head-scratchingly... different titles like Konami. While some of their licensed efforts as of late haven't met with the best success (it appears Todd MacFarlane isn't ready for videogames yet), the updates to games of old have been fantastic.

2002's Contra: Shattered Soldier showed that 2D gameplay wasn't dead yet - even if 2D graphics sadly are on the PS2. 2004's Contra follow-up looks to bring old-school 16-bit gameplay even further into the 128-bit generation, with 3D takes on the top-down camera found in Contra classics like Super C and Contra: Alien Wars. Konami's newest trailer shows off all that old-school-turned-new gameplay plus, and we kid you not here, guys running on helicopter rotor blades. Oh, and one of the coolest/most disgusting bosses the series has ever seen.

For those guys not interested in $#!^ blowing up everywhere, there's plenty of jiggling breasts and a light touch of girl-on-girl grappling to be found in the first trailer for WWX: Rumble Rose, the all-girl wrestling affair from Yuke's. Given the Japanese developer's affinity for making wrestling games that seem to win all kinds of praise from people that can actually stomach games like that (and penchant for reinforcing bad grammar with their poorly-apostrophed name), and the source material of girls grabbing each other constantly, there's a good chance that this will attract more than a few guy gamers. Plus, who doesn't like a little CGI breast jiggling? We certainly don't mind it.
