With the PlayStation 2 still in need of a futuristic shooter to match the ranks of Halo 2 (though some will admit Killzone came darn close), Eidos Interactive has taken at stab at the crown with the release of Project: Snowblind.

The game sees players as Nathan Frost, a 2nd Lieutenant of the Liberty Coalition who goes from another face on the battlefield to bio-enhanced super soldier after undergoing a risky experimental procedure to save his life after a rescue mission injury. Weapons and gadgets at his disposal will come far and many, with tools including riot walls, spiderbots, ice picks, cloaking shields and arms the likes of the Flechette gun and Rail Laser, as well as fan favorites the Shotgun and Rocket Launcher.

"In Project: Snowblind, our goal was to provide the player with a myriad of options in terms of weapons, gadgets and augmented abilities," explains the game's producer, John Chowanec. "It is up to you to combine them to your imagination's content. Given the battlefield chaos in Project: Snowblind, we're arming you with a sandbox within which you can play out some of your most destructive ideas. Happy shooting!"

You heard the man: get in on the trigger happy fan by picking up Project: Snowblind at your local game store. It'll be waiting for you.
