On Shelves in One Piece!
Bandai's zany manga-based fighter takes its grand battle to retail.
Published: September 12, 2005
If cartoony, environmentally interactive fighting games with... pirates are your bag, then hey, thank Bandai, as today the company shipped (albeit a week later than expected) One Piece: Grand Battle. Inspired by Viz Media's popular graphic novels, this arena-based fighter has you duking it out with combatants left and right with the prized title of Pirate King at stake. Sixteen playable pirates and 32 supporting characters to boot? Six modes of play? A repertoire of melee, special, "ultimate" and combo moves? Oh yeah!
"As the first official US debut title of the series, we give fans all of the excitement and adventure found in the One Piece world," promises Sammy Matsushima, Co-Producer of Bandai Games Inc. "Fans will be captivated by the comical personalities, original fighting styles, and voices of their favorite characters taken straight from the anime. We have perfectly entwined the outrageous combat with the One Piece pirate life to create a true [/i]Grand Battle[/i]."
"Perfectly," you hear, PERFECTLY! Well, we certainly hope it's good... heck, why don't you skip on down to your local game store and find out for yourself! We know you skip... we've been watching.
