Finally! One of the coolest looking PS2 games ever made is finally here.

If you don't know about Okami yet, then... well, we need to have a little talk. We've been all over the game ever since we saw it transform into the digital equivalent of a Japanese rice paper painting animation, and haven't been able to stop staring sense. The game's art style is, clearly, a major source of oohs and ahhs, but if you've paid any attention to the general buzz about the game (and if you had, we wouldn't be explaining this, would we?), the phrase "Zelda for the PS2" has been batted around more than a few times.

Now, literally years after we first took a look at the game, it's done. More than done, actually, it's in stores. Now. As in you should stop reading this grab your keys and wallet, and beat feet to the nearest games store. What? You need more info? Fine, pal, but don't come crying to us when you get to your mom 'n pop game store (you are supporting your local small-time games store, right?) and all the copies are sold out.

See, there's this eight-headed monster named Orochi that's terrorizing the world, but long ago a lone wolf and heroic villager stood up to the monster to put a stop to the years of sacrificing hotties to the beast. Long story short, the demon was killed, but the wolf was mortally wounded. Now, a century later, the demon has been awakened and, as the goddess Amaterasu, you must take the form of the white wolf and go demon slaying again.

No, seriously, why are you still reading this? We know that story sounds rather pedestrian, but c'mon, how many times have you saved the princess or joined a bunch of Triforce pieces yet you keep coming back? Yeah, see, it's the same thing here. Trust us. Trust us. We'll have a full review that tells you this exact thing in like 2500 words by the end of the week, but we're trying to save you the trouble now. Of course if you do want to wait, you could always check out [ps2media=752]the Okami media page[/ps2media] and see what we're talking about...
