As EA continues to push their Need for Speed franchise forward, they continue to recruit some of the biggest names from Hollywood to help gussy up their latest street racing installment.
That newest game, Need for Speed Most Wanted involves not only pooling the talents of director David 'Foots' Footman (who worked as a second unit director on X-Men and The Day After Tomorrow) and cinematographer Brian Pearson (Dark Angel, I, Robot and the upcoming Underworld sequel, Underworld: Evolution) along with EA's in-house Senior Art Director (and former ILM VFX man for movies like Twister and Episode I) Habib Zargarpour.
This team will oversee the general direction of the cinematics in the game, but the real star will be actress and model Josie Maran, who will shoot all of her scenes against a green screen (see, all those Hollywood guys will come in handy) in Hi-Def, then have her footage converted into something more closely resembling an in-game model.
"Video games are much more personal than films since it's an interactive experience for the audience; it's like being invited into their home," outlined Maran. "For Need for Speed Most Wanted, we performed in front of a green screen, much like a Hollywood set, so all the gamers will see will be real-life video of the actors merged into environments from the game; it's simply amazing."
Maran plays Mia, a woman tasked with the incredibly tough job of coaxing players deeper into the world of street racing. Since the new game is based entirely around earning a rep and building up a blacklist, it probably won't be too tough for the girl to convince gamers to enter a few races. Y'know, cause she's a girl, and she's talking to you!!!!!!!
Most Wanted hits this November, but we'll make sure we give more details in between now and then.
