Electronic Arts announced today that NFL Street is currently in development by Electronic Arts Tiburon and will be released in early 2004 under the EA Sports Big brand.

What NBA Street did for basketball, NFL Street is prepared to do for football. The game features fast-paced 7-on-7 arcade gameplay, but is focused truly on the action of the game. By disallowing penalties, punting, kicking and field goals, NFL Street allows players to show off their skills on the street with trick plays and special moves such as big jukes, behind-the-back passes, and a plethora of showboat moves. To create the ultimate team, players are also given the option of choosing from over 300 players from all 32 NFL teams, and since the game features no helmets, players will be able to easily recognize their NFL players.

The NFL Street franchise represents the game we all played as kids taken to the next level," said All-Pro Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. "We all want to play on both offense and defense in a wide-open, no holds barred game. NFL Street is football the way players want to play-it's our game."

NFL Street is currently slated for an early 2004 release on the PlayStation 2, as well as Xbox and Gamecube. We here at PSX2.com will keep you updated as new details arise on the game.
